                                    2 2026 | Spectrum | Volume 19 Number 2SRMIST%u2019s Team Camber Racing Claims National Title at Formula Bharat 2026STAFF WRITERSRMIST achieved a significant national milestone as its student team, Team Camber Racing, emerged as the National Champion at Formula Bharat 2026, one of India%u2019s most prestigious collegiate motorsport competitions.Team Camber Racing delivered a dominant performance at the event, securing first place across all major dynamic and static categories, including Endurance, Skidpad, Autocross, Acceleration, Engineering Design, Fuel Economy, and Sustainability & Best Practices.The team was led by Himanshu Kumar, Captain and final-year student from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Key leadership roles were held by Aryan Sampath Nair, Vice Captain (Mechatronics Engineering); Shashank Reddy, Technical Director (Automobile Engineering); Rohit Ramesh, Project Manager (Automobile Engineering); and T. M. Sakthiprasad, Chief Race Driver (Automobile Engineering). The achievement reflects SRMIST%u2019s multidisciplinary approach, integrating expertise from mechanical, electrical, electronics, and computing disciplines.Congratulating the students, Dr. C. The programme brought together academic leaders, students, and distinguished dignitaries to reflect on India%u2019s constitutional values, democratic institutions, and the role of youth in nation-building.The event was presided over by Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, Founder Chancellor, SRMIST, and graced by Thiru R. N. Ravi, Hon%u2019ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, as the Chief Guest. The proceedings began with the National Anthem, Tamil Thai Vazhthu, and Vande Mataram, commemorating 150 years of the national song that inspired India%u2019s freedom movement.Following the conclave, the Hon%u2019ble Governor inaugurated Vendhar Museum %u2013 Phase II, which presents curated exhibits on the evolution of the Constitution of India, its core principles, and democratic institutions. The museum highlights SRMIST%u2019s commitment to constitutional literacy, civic responsibility, and experiential learning. Addressing the gathering, Thiru R. N. Ravi described India as the world%u2019s largest and most stable democracy, rooted in a civilisational tradition where democracy has long been a way of life. Emphasising the role of education, he noted that institutions like SRMIST nurture not only academic and practical skills but also cultural and national values. Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar underscored the importance of strong, autonomous universities in sustaining democracy and national progress, while Vice-Chancellor Prof. C.
