The event marked the inauguration of the Dr T.R. Paarivendhar Tamil Foundation, the presentation of the World Record certificate for the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, and the observance of Parakram Diwas, honouring the courage and sacrifice of national heroes.The Dr T.R. Paarivendhar Tamil Foundation was inaugurated in the revered names of Thiruvalluvar, Ilango Adigal, Kambar, Ramalinga Adigalar (Vallalar), and Subramania Bharati. On this occasion, Dr T.R. Paarivendhar, Founder-Chancellor, SRM Group of Institutions, presented a cheque for `10 lakh towards the corpus fund of the Foundation to Dr Karu. Nagarajan, President, Tamil Perayam.Commemorating the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, SRMIST created a world record with the participation of 3,032 individuals. The World Record Union awarded the official certificate, which was received on behalf of SRM by Mr K. Annamalai, Ex-IPS, from Ms Sherifa Hanifa, Educator, World Record Union.Addressing the gathering, Mr K. Annamalai, former IPS officer and National Executive Committee Member, Bharatiya Janata Party, spoke on the transformative moments of India%u2019s freedom movement and highlighted the inspirational power of Vande Mataram.
