In recognition of her extraordinary sporting achievement, she was honoured with a cash incentive of ` 1,20,000 by the Tamil Nadu Government at a prestigious award ceremony held at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on 18th February 2026. STAFF WRITERThe Department of Computer Applications, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), successfully organised a seminar titled %u201cAI & ML Applications in Adaptive Learning and Healthcare%u201d, held on 30th January 2026, at the Seminar Hall, FSH Block-II, Kattankulathur.The presidential address was delivered by Dr. S. Albert Antony Raj, Professor and Deputy Dean, College of Sciences, FSH, SRMIST. In his address, he emphasised the importance of integrating AI and ML into academic curricula to prepare students for real-world challenges in education and healthcare sectors.The felicitation address was delivered by Dr. P. J. Arul Leena Rose, Professor and Head, Department of Computer Applications, who underscored the department%u2019s commitment to organising academic events that bridge the gap between theory and practice.The chief guest, Dr. Jabez Christopher, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, was formally introduced by Dr. R. D. Seeja, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications.Dr. Jabez Christopher delivered an in-depth and informative technical session on the practical and research-oriented aspects of AI and ML applications in adaptive learning systems and healthcare solutions. His session provided students with a strong foundation in AI concepts while demonstrating how these technologies are applied in real-world scenarios.The seminar witnessed active participation from approximately 300 students from the MCA, MCA Gen-AI, and MSc Applied Data Science programmes. An interactive question-and-answer session provided students with the opportunity to clarify concepts, discuss research opportunities, and seek guidance on career prospects in AI and ML. Yadesh Babu, I Year MBA student at SRM Institute of Science and Technology %u2013 Vadapalani Campus, has brought extraordinary glory to our institution by winning the Gold Medal at the All India Inter University Swimming Championships 2024%u20132025. In recognition of his outstanding achievement, he was honoured with a prestigious cash prize of ` 6,00,000 by the Hon%u2019ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at a grand award function held on 18th February 2026 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Adding to this remarkable feat, he has also been selected under the prestigious MIMS (Mission International Medal Scheme) sponsorship, paving the way for his journey in the international arena.SRMIST Hosts International Conference on Media, Design & Language for Sustainable Future; Over 100 Research Papers PresentedSTAFF WRITERSeven departments under the Faculty of Science and Humanities at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, successfully organized a two-day International Conference on Media, Design & Language for Sustainable Future on February 23 and 24, 2026, at the Dr. T.P. Ganesan Auditorium, Mini Hall 1 & 2. The conference brought together academicians, media professionals, researchers, and students from diverse institutions across the country, with over 100 research papers presented during the two-day academic event, fostering critical discussions on sustainability through media, design, and language.The conference commenced with a formal inauguration on February 23 with a series of keynote addresses. Prof. A. Vinay Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor (SBL, SRMIST KTR), delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing global challenges.The keynote session featured eminent speakers including Prof. Ravi B. K., Vice Chancellor, Bengaluru North University, and Shri Ravi Shankar, Editor, Gagnanchal, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Their talks highlighted emerging trends in communication, cultural dialogue, and sustainable media practices. The inaugural session concluded with the release of an article and a vote of thanks.Throughout the conference, scholars and students engaged in paper presentations and academic discussions exploring themes such as sustainable communication, media ethics, language and culture, and design innovations for social impact. The sessions fostered critical dialogue and provided a platform for young researchers to present their work to an international academic audience.The valedictory ceremony on February 24 began with the valedictory session featuring Dr. N. C. Rajamani, Chief Executive Officer of Puthiya Thalaimurai, and Dr. C. Karthikeyan, Actor and Assistant Professor of Film Studies at Tamil Nadu Open University.
