                                    Milan 2025: A Celebration of Culture, Diversity, and Artistic Brilliance UnfoldedSTAFF WRITERMilan 2025, the signature cultural festival of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), opened to a packed audience, setting the stage for four days of artistic expression and cultural celebration.The inauguration, held on April 3 at 6:30 PM, was graced by actor Atharvaa Murali, who expressed his admiration for the students%u2019 enthusiasm and the vibrant energy of the festival.With the theme %u201cCelebrate Diversity Through Art and Dance: Where Heritage Meets Harmony,%u201d Milan 2025 united around 50,000 students from across the country in a grand celebration of culture, creativity, and artistic expression.The extravaganza, which ran from April 3 to April 6, 2025, featured over 40 club events and two spectacular pro shows, with a total prize pool exceeding Rs. 8 lakhs, drawing in thousands of talented participants.During the inauguration, Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, Founder Chancellor of SRM Groups, shared, %u201cAs one of the nation%u2019s largest multidisciplinary universities, SRM recognised that cultivating well-rounded individuals requires more than just academic rigour. We believed cultural and extracurricular activities are essential for students to develop into multi-dimensional leaders.%u201d Later, actor Atharvaa expressed his admiration for the institution, revealing that he once aspired to study at SRM but instead made his way there as the Chief Guest.Milan 2025 stood out as a festival for the students, by the students. Under the dynamic leadership of the Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA) at SRMIST, students played a pivotal role in organising and executing the event%u2014from planning to coordination.The night came alive with an electrifying performance by Thaikkudam Bridge, the internationally acclaimed 15-member rock band known for their fusion of Indian folk, classical, and global music influences.With over 650 shows across 25 countries, their hit albums Navarasam (2016) and Namah (2019) had already captivated audiences worldwide.The excitement continued on April 4 with a pro show featuring Indian percussionist Sivamani and flutist Naveen Kumar, along with National Film Award-winning music director and playback singer Thaman S. Known for his work in blockbuster films like Dookudu (2011), Race Gurram (2014), and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), Thaman left an indelible mark on the Indian music scene.On April 5, the stage lit up for Naslen and his crew, the Alappuzha-based Ging Gang, who delivered a night of high-energy entertainment.The festival concluded on April 6 with a valedictory ceremony featuring actress Kayadu Lohar, known for her role in the movie DragonWith an incredible lineup of performances, competitions, and cultural showcases, Milan 2025 proved to be an unforgettable celebration of talent, diversity, and artistic excellence.STAFF WRITERThe Faculty of Management (FOM), SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, Bazaar 8.0 Retro, a three-day extravaganza fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, held from February 12th to 14th, 2025. Stepping into the eighth year of Bazaar, the students unveiled their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, exhibiting their products on the floor.Bazaar 8.0 Retro was inaugurated on February 12th in the Prof. Peter Drucker Hall, MBA Block. The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Mr. Moses, Founder and CEO of %u201cAladipattiyan%u201d and SRMIST alumnus; Mrs. Anees Begam, Founder and Managing Director of %u201cHaiku%u201d; Dr. Venkata Shastry, Director, Directorate of Career Centre; Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Associate Director Campus Administration; Dr. Shivganesh Bhargava, Dean, FOM; and other faculty members.Mr. Moses, who began his entrepreneurial journey at the first edition of Bazaar, shared his inspiring story of scaling his Karupatti Coffee business to 60 o Three Days of Inspiration, Bazaar 8.0 Retro Ignites Entrepreneurial Spirit at SRMISTNetworking, and CommerceThe bazaar featured over 60 student and commercial stalls, showcasing a diverse range of products and services, including food, fashion, and crafts. Students from SRMIST Kattankulathur and Vadapalani campuses participated, creating a vibrant marketplace.Valedictory Celebrates Success and Recognizes TalentThe valedictory function on February 14th featured keynote addresses by Mr. C. K. Mohan, Chairman of TFSC, President, TANSTIA FNF, and Mr. S. M. Imran, Chief Marketing of %u201cZimson Watches.%u201d Certificates of appreciation were awarded to coordinators and stall owners by Dr. K. Subathra and Dr. Rajalakshmi. The best stall awards were presented to %u201cPh.D. Pani Puri%u201d (Stall No. 5), %u201cArora%u201d (Stall No. 36), and the photo booth (Stall No. 18).Adding to the festivity, playback singer, Shivathmika entertained the audience with her melodious songs on February 14th, 2025. Bazaar 8.0 Retro, housed in a 10,000 square foot venue, demonstrated SRMIST%u2019s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial spirit, providing a valuable platform for students to showcase their talents and connect with the business community.
