                                    SRMIST Men%u2019s Chess Team Strikes Gold for the Fourth Consecutive Year at All India InterUniversity ChampionshipSTAFF WRITERThe Directorate of Sports, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), proudly celebrates a momentous achievement as its Men%u2019s Chess Team clinched the Gold Medal for the fourth consecutive year at the prestigious All India Inter-University Chess Tournament (Men%u2019s), held at Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, from 2nd to 5th April 2025.This year%u2019s tournament made history with the highest-ever participation of titled players, including 3 Grandmasters (GMs) and 8 International Masters (IMs)%u2014a benchmark that underscores the elite standard of the championship.The SRMIST team was represented by a starstudded lineup:GM Mr. Arjun Kalyan %u2013 2nd year, M.Com GM Mr. Pranesh %u2013 1st year, B.Sc. Senthil Kumar, the team%u2019s Coach and Manager, the players displayed extraordinary skill and cohesion throughout the tournament.SRMIST presents IRIS-BioVention 2025: Advancing Health, MedTech, Pharma & AgriTechSTAFF WRITERThe SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, hosted the second edition of its Industrial Research and Innovation Summit (IRIS) 2025 %u2014 BioVention Edition, held on 17 April 2025, with a strong sectoral focus on Healthcare, MedTech, Pharma, and Agri-Tech. This edition of IRIS, SRM%u2019s flagship technology expo aimed at fostering industry-academia partnerships, was held as part of World Intellectual Property Week celebrations.IRIS-BioVention 2025 exemplified the University%u2019s dynamic approach to translating cutting-edge research into marketready innovations. With 472 patents granted, including over 50 in life sciences, SRMIST continues to drive its mission of transforming patents into products for the benefit of industry and society at large. The event was jointly supported by leading industry and innovation partners, including TICEL Bio Park, TIDCO, Sathguru Consultants, KIIT TTO, C-CAMP, TIMED %u2013 TIPS, and Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre. These partners played a crucial role in bridging the gap between research and commercialisation by presenting real-world problem statements and offering collaborative platforms for solution development. IRIS-BioVention 2025 featured 54+ patented inventions and research projects by students and faculty, 12 advanced R&D labs and competency centres from across SRMIST, 60+ industry professionals in attendance, many of IRIS-BioVention 2025 brought together technology, talent, and transformative ideas, reinforcing SRMIST%u2019s position as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration. By aligning academic research with industrial needs, SRMIST continues to power the %u201cMake in India%u201d dream into a tangible reality.whom extended mentorship opportunities and expressed keen interest in various showcased products, and 3 significant MoU signings with: Sewon Intelligence, South Korea; Anabond Pvt. Ltd., Chennai; Switching Batteries, Singapore. We were privileged to host Dr. R. Aravindhan, Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR-CLRI, as our esteemed Chief Guest, who inspired us with his visionary insights on sustainable innovation. The conference was enriched by thought-provoking discussions, interactive sessions, and groundbreaking research presentations, fostering meaningful collaboration and intellectual growth.
