                                    SRMIST Hosts ICONN 2025, Showcasing Global Advancements in Nanoscience and NanotechnologySTAFF WRITERThe 8th Biennial International Conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICONN-2025) was organised by the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, from March 24 to March 26, 2025. The event, co-sponsored by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), WILEY, Springer Nature USA, and Malvern Panalytical Spectrics Pvt. Ltd., Netherlands, was conducted in association with prominent international institutions including Shizuoka University, Japan; University of Paris Cite, France; National Yang Ming Chiao University, Taiwan; University of Malaya, Malaysia; Riga Technical University, Latvia; Flinders University, Australia; University of Tasmania, Australia; Mordovia State University, Russia; and the Nanotechnology Research Centre (NRC), SRMISTThe conference features over 30 scientific sessions encompassing keynote addresses, technical presentations, and panel discussions. The sessions covered a range of topics, including materials at reduced dimensional scales, nanofabrication, nanoelectronics, energy applications, and emerging nanomedicine technologies. Participants presented cutting-edge research on energy harvesting, STAFF WRITERSRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST-KTR) has been awarded the %u2018Certification of Recognition%u2019 by the UHV Foundation, acknowledging its contribution to Universal Human Values (UHV) in Education. The honour was presented by AICTE Chairman Prof. T. G. Sitharam on 3rd April 2025 during the UHV National Conference held at SRMIST NCR Campus, Ghaziabad. This recognition places SRMIST among an elite group, as only two universities across India received this accolade %u2014 a testament to its unwavering commitment to value-based education. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the SRM UHV Cell also for the entire SRMIST community. It reflects the collective dedication of faculty, staff, and students in fostering an academic environment rooted in ethics, empathy, and holistic development %u2014 truly embodying the motto, %u201cWellbeing for All.%u201dSRMIST has been actively integrating Universal Human Values into its curriculum and campus initiatives, with the aim of nurturing socially responsible individuals who can contribute meaningfully to a harmonious society. This recognition inspires to further our efforts and continue making impactful strides in value-based education.SRMIST Honoured with Certification of Recognition for Contribution to Universal Human Valuesdevelopment in nanoscience and nanotechnology. Dr. R. Vijay, Director, ARCI, Hyderabad, delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the importance of technology transfer and industrial collaboration in the field. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. J. Archana, Department of Physics and Nanotechnology, SRMIST.The conference also honoured eminent scientists with the SRMICONN Innovation Award, the SRM-ICONN Outstanding Woman Researcher Award, the SRM-ICONN Young Researcher Award, and the Springer Nature Best Oral and Poster Awards.The second day of the conference includes in-depth scientific discussions on topics such as energy harvesting, computational physics, nanospectroscopy, green hydrogen production, and drug delivery systems. The final day features an exclusive program titled %u201cSeeding Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in Young Minds%u2014Live Interaction with Scientists,%u201d which engages around 250 school students in interactive sessions with eminent professors from various organisations. With over 1100 participants, ICONN-2025 provided a global platform for fostering scientific dialogue and advancing innovations in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology.nanocomposites, catalysts, and two-dimensional materials, fostering collaboration between researchers, industry experts, and academicians. The event also provided a platform for young scientists and students to showcase their work, encouraging interdisciplinary engagement.
