Russian and Indian Cultures Blend in Colorful Performances at SRMISTSTAFF WRITERThe cultural event %u201cRussia and India: Culture Unites%u201d was held on March 8, 2025, at the Dr. T.P. Ganesan Auditorium to commemorate the partnership between N.P. Ogarev National Research Mordovia State University (Russia) and SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST).The program was inaugurated by Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S. Ponnusamy, Registrar, Mr. Lakshmi Narasimhan, Director of International Relations, Dr. Dmitry Glushko, Rector of Mordovia State University, along with delegates from the Russian House. The event was witnessed by Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, faculty members, students, corporate partners, and distinguished guests.A diverse array of performances was presented by students and artists from N.P. Ogarev National Research Mordovia State University (Russia), featuring a blend of classical music, traditional dances, and fashion shows. Notable highlights included iconic Russian pieces such as %u201cFly on the Wings of the Wind,%u201d and the Indian favourite %u201cJai Ho.%u201dThe event also showcased Mordovian folk performances, Russian classical ballet, and an Indo-Russian Costume collection, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of both nations. An interactive quiz on Russian culture engaged the audience, with prizes awarded to participants.A special video presentation highlighting the experiences of Indian students at Mordovia State University was screened, emphasizing the spirit of cultural exchange and academic collaboration.The program concluded with expressions of gratitude to the performers, organizers, and dignitaries, underscoring the enduring friendship between Russia and India through cultural and educational ties.SRM IHM Alumni Reunion 2025: A Record-Breaking Culinary EventSTAFF WRITEROn March 1, 2025, the SRM Institute of Hotel Management (SRM IHM) achieved a remarkable milestone by preparing 3,688 vegan burgers in 1 minute and 55 seconds, securing a place in the Triumph World Records for the %u201cMost Number of Vegan Burgers Prepared by Students and Alumni.%u201dOrganised with the Directorate of Alumni Affairs, SRMIST-KTR, the event brought together 350 students and alumni at the Dr. T. P. Ganesan Auditorium, SRMIST, to celebrate culinary teamwork and alumni connections.The event featured a keynote address by Senior Executive Chef Y. B. It highlighted the collaborative spirit of SRM IHM, where students and alumni work together to achieve meaningful goals.About Triumph World Records:Triumph World Records recognises and honours achievements across various fields, providing a platform for people to showcase their talents globally.The World Record Certificate was presented to SRM Institute of Hotel Management, Kattankulathur, marking this achievement in the institution%u2019s history.
