Our Chief Guest, Mr. Edwin J. Robert, Creative Director, Photographer, and Founder of Ping Us and Ping Productions, delivered a captivating presentation on contemporary fashion and commercial photography, demonstrating innovative techniques through engaging visuals.The induction also introduced the Core Team, active members, and student coordinators, concluding with a strong spirit of enthusiasm and camaraderie. This recognition celebrates Dharun Raj%u2019s dedication, skill, and contribution to Indian martial arts, bringing pride to our campus and inspiring fellow students.SRMIST Vadapalani Student Wins International Chess Laurels in EuropeSTAFF WRITERDemonstrating exceptional skill and strategic brilliance, Dinesh Rajan M, a firstyear M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering student at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Vadapalani Campus, has brought international recognition to the institution through his outstanding performances in two prestigious European chess tournaments.Dinesh secured the Silver Medal and a cash prize of ` 40,000 in the Below 2150 Masters A Category at the Brasov Grand Prix Classic Chess Tournament, held from July 26 to August 1, 2025, in Romania. Continuing his winning streak, he went on to clinch the Gold Medal at the Budapest One Week IM Round Robin Classical Chess Tournament, held from August 11 to 18, 2025, in Hungary.STAFF WRITERThe SRM School of Law, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, organized an awareness programme on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at PUMS School, Ninnakarai, Maraimalai Nagar.The initiative, spearheaded by Unit%u20139 of the NSS, was designed as an outreach activity to educate school students about child protection laws in an interactive and age-appropriate manner.A total of 24 law students from SRM School of Law actively participated in the drive, engaging children from Standards V, VI, and VII through creative and participatory sessions. The programme featured a thematic skit comprising four short scenes, effectively highlighting key aspects of the POCSO Act, including recognizing, preventing, and reporting inappropriate behaviour.In addition to the skit, the student volunteers conducted interactive discussions to help children understand concepts such as %u2018good touch%u2019 and %u2018bad touch,%u2019 personal safety, and responsible communication.
