Art from Waste: Circuit to Canvas Mural ChallengeSTAFF WRITERThe Department of Computing Technologies, School of Computing, SRMIST%u2013KTR organised %u201cArt from Waste%u201d %u2013 E-Waste into Art: Circuit to Canvas Mural Challenge, an initiative that celebrates the transformative power of creativity by turning discarded electronic components into visually compelling wall murals. The showcase underscores SRMIST%u2019s commitment to sustainability, circular design, and hands-on learning. Visitors explored eight stunning murals, each crafted entirely from electronic and electrical waste by student teams. From repurposed circuit boards and cables to resistors and processors, the installations demonstrated how responsible reuse can spark imagination, reduce landfill burden, and inspire eco-conscious design thinking on campus. Blending art, sustainability, and the mural challenge provided students with a platform to reimagine e-waste as a creative medium, promote sustainable practices through upcycling and responsible disposal, and collaborate across diverse skills ranging from concept sketching to structural mounting and safe material handling. The exhibition not only celebrated innovation and artistic expression but also invited the campus community to reflect on responsible tech consumption and the boundless possibilities of creative reuse.Institutional Renaissance through Industrial ResearchSTAFF WRITERT h e D e p a r t m e n t o f Electronics and Communi cation Engineering (ECE), SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), organized the Institutional Renaissance through Industrial Research (IRIR2025) at the Kattankulathur campus.
