Paarivendhar.The grand event, held at the Dr. T.P. Ganesan Auditorium, brought together over 2,000 students in a remarkable display of coordination and discipline. The initiative aimed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic living among students and staff.Participants performed 20 yoga asanas, guided by trained instructors, followed by a structured meditation session focused on inner calm and concentration. The event highlighted SRMIST%u2019s commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also a balanced and healthy lifestyle among its students.The record-setting attempt stood as a tribute to the Chancellor%u2019s vision of integrating wellness, discipline, and mindfulness into higher education.SRM School of Law Wins GOLD Trophy at TIOL Awards 2025SRMIST Hosts World Record Attempt in Yoga and Meditation to Celebrate Chancellor%u2019s BirthdaySRMIST Journalism Students Represent India at Cultural Journalism Delegation to IsraelJAHNVI KUMAWATTwo students Mr. Niraj and Ms. Jahnvi Kwmawat from the department of Journalism & Mass Communication, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) proudly represented the institution at the Cultural Journalism Delegation to Israel, held from August 23 to 29, 2025. The initiative, organized by the Consulate General of Israel to Southern India, brought together journalism students from leading South Indian universities to explore Israel%u2019s vibrant media ecosystem, cultural heritage, and stories of resilience.The students actively participated in interactive sessions, field visits, and cross-cultural discussions throughout the week-long program.The journey began in Jerusalem, where the delegation visited Yad Vashem, the Old City, and the National Library of Israel, gaining a deeper understanding of the role journalism plays in preserving history and collective memory. Engaging sessions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shed light on Israel%u2019s contemporary approaches to fact-checking, crisis communication, and public diplomacy.In the Western Negev, students heard moving testimonies from survivors of the October 7, 2023 attacks, offering them firsthand insights into conflict reporting. Experiences in Tel Aviv, including interactions with renowned journalist Or Heller and visits to Hostages Square, emphasized the emotional and ethical dimensions of storytelling. The delegation also visited the Peres Centre for Peace and Innovation, Save a Child%u2019s Heart, and Technion %u2013 Israel Institute of Technology, witnessing Israel%u2019s humanitarian and scientific contributions to global society.Concluding the journey, visits to Druze and multifaith communities in Haifa reflected the country%u2019s cultural diversity and coexistence.%u201cThis experience was transformative for our students%u2014it helped them understand the power of journalism to bridge cultures and build empathy,%u201d said Dr. Praveen Kumar, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, SRMIST.Reflecting on the trip, one of the student participants shared, %u201cEvery place we visited told a story of resilience and humanity.
