                                    Hindi Fortnight 2025: A confluence of language, art, culture and creativitySTAFF WRITERThe Faculty of Science and Humanities, Department of Hindi, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, in collaboration with Bank of Baroda and Rajasthan Patrika, organized a grand three-day Hindi Fortnight Celebration for 2025%u20132026. The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting, welcome speeches, and cultural showcases by students highlighting literature, art, and creativity. Convener Dr. S. Razia Begum, HoD Dr. Shwahidul Islam, and Secretary Dr. S. Preeti guided the program, with strong student coordination by Supriti and Muskan from Biotechnology. Distinguished guests including Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. A. Vinay Kumar and Bank of Baroda%u2019s Mrs. Rita Govindan emphasized the role of Hindi in unity and culture. Over 350 students participated in inter-departmental and inter-collegiate competitions in dance, song, speech, and poetry, with colleges across Chennai also joining. Judges praised the exceptional talent, noting the event fostered cultural pride and linguistic awareness. I under the title %u201cRespect in Campus: Strategies to Prevent Ragging and Foster a Positive Learning Environment.%u201d The event aimed to create awareness among students about the significance of mutual respect, empathy, and inclusivity within the academic community.Participants from various departments enthusiastically expressed their thoughts and perspectives through well-researched and creative essays. They highlighted practical strategies to prevent ragging, the importance of peer support, and the role of institutions in fostering a safe and respectful atmosphere. The competition encouraged critical thinking and inspired students to become advocates for a positive campus culture.It concluded with the evaluation of entries by a panel of faculty members, and winners were recognized for their outstanding contributions. P. Ganesan Auditorium.The two-day event aimed to inspire school students to develop innovative solutions addressing national challenges in water, energy, environment, health sciences, and rural development. The fest began with an invocation and lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address by Dr. M. Lakshmi, Professor and Head, Department of Networking and Communications, who shared the vision behind INSIF %u2014 to ignite scientific curiosity and creativity in young minds.SRM Foundation, who emphasized rural innovation.The fest featured competitions like the Debaters%u2019 League, Science on Display (Poster Showcase), and Brain Blitz (Quiz Bowl), encouraging students to present creative ideas on sustainability, renewable energy, and digital innovation.
