                                    STAFF WRITERThe Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, in association with the Tamil Nadu Urban Livelihoods Mission (TNULM), the Tamil Nadu Corporation for Women%u2019s Development, and the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, successfully organized a three-day College Bazaar from 30th July to 1st August 2025.The event was inaugurated by Dr. Shivganesh Bhargava, Dean, School of Management, in the presence of Dr. V. Thirumurugan, Associate Director (Campus Life), SRMIST, and Ms. Emilly Priya, Assistant Project Officer (APO), Chengalpattu District %u2013 Mahalir Thittam, Government of Tamil Nadu.Women from various Self Help Groups (SHGs) representing UBA%u2013SRMIST adopted villages showcased a vibrant range of rural products. The stalls featured:Nursery and garden items, Garments and hand-stitched clothes, Homemade herbal soaps, Traditional sweets and snacks, Eco-friendly household products, Handicrafts and decorative itemsThe event witnessed active participation from students and faculty, who visited the stalls and supported the women entrepreneurs b y p u r c h a s i n g t h e i r products. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shivganesh Bhargava highlighted the importance of nurturing rural entrepreneurship. He announced that the School of Management will provide training in marketing and product positioning to SHG members, helping them enhance their visibility and reach broader markets.This initiative served as a platform to:Promote women-led microenterprises, Provide market linkage for rural products, Foster academic-social collaboration under UBA, The three-day bazaar concluded on a highly successful note, building momentum for continued support to rural women entrepreneurs through institutional and government partnerships.Three-day College BazaarSRMIST organizes College BazaarFormer RBI Governor Dr. C. Rangarajan Stresses %u2018Growth with Equity%u2019 at SRMIST%u2019s ICSSR-Sponsored National WorkshopSTAFF WRITERT h e D e p a r t m e n t o f Corporate Secretaryship and Accounting & Finance, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, organized an ICSSR-SRC Sponsored TwoDay National Workshop on June 26%u201327 titled %u201cIndia 2030: Innovate, Integrate, Inspire %u2013 The Path to Achieving SDGs.%u201d The event received an overwhelming response with over 700 participants, including faculty members, research scholars, and students from across Tamil Nadu. The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Prof. A. Vinay Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor, SRMIST, who introduced the Chief Guest, Padma Vibhushan Dr. C. Rangarajan, former RBI Governor. In his keynote address, Dr. Rangarajan emphasized %u201cgrowth with equity%u201d and the need for India to sustain a 7.4% GDP growth rate to achieve developednation status by 2047. He highlighted the role of AI and sunrise industries in driving inclusive progress.The workshop featured insightful technical sessions by eminent experts. Dr. L. Venkatachalam (MIDS, Chennai) discussed Green GDP and renewable energy, while Dr. Paromita Chakraborty (SRMIST) explored innovation for sustainability, emphasizing the 5Ps%u2014People, Prosperity, Peace, Partnership, and Planet. Dr. Mary Angeline (Nazareth College) highlighted the impact of NGO%u2013corporate collaborations.Day two included sessions by Dr. Kavi Kumar on climate action, Dr. V. Sivasankar on localizing SDGs, and Dr. C. Paramasivan on green finance mechanisms like ESG investing and carbon trading. The final session by Dr. A. G. Vijayanarayanan stressed rural skilling, governance, and behavioral change. The valedictory address by Prof. Leenus Jesu Martin M inspired participants to adopt eco-friendly habits and contribute to a sustainable future for India.Prof. A. Thilagaraj, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), was honoured at the CEM-SEA Awards 2025 (Commerce, Economics & Management %u2013 Start-ups, Entrepreneurs, and Academicians) for his remarkable contributions in the field of commerce.The prestigious event was held at the Tamil Virtual Academy Auditorium, near the Anna Centenary Library, Chennai on July 27, 2025, and was organized by ARPR Events in association with Makkal Kural. The ceremony brought together eminent academicians, entrepreneurs, and professionals from diverse fields to celebrate excellence and innovation in education and enterprise.
