                                    STAFF WRITERThe spirit of collaboration and community service was vibrant at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, as the Faculty of Management, in conjunction with NSS Unit Cell 13 and the Tamil Academy%u2014Paarivendhar Student Tamil Association, successfully organised a blood donation camp on 21st March 2025. The initiative, held in collaboration with the Madras Voluntary Blood Bureau, witnessed an overwhelming response from the student body, with over 100 enthusiastic students stepping forward to donate blood.The day commenced with an efficient registration process, followed by comprehensive health screenings conducted by a dedicated team of nurses and doctors from Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital. The success of the camp was significantly bolstered by the invaluable contributions of dedicated student volunteers. Their proactive involvement in registration, providing guidance to donors, and ensuring the smooth flow of the blood collection process was truly commendable.This impactful initiative was spearheaded by Dr. K. Maheswari, NSS Programme Officer, Faculty of Management, SRMIST-KTR. STAFF WRITERThe National Cadet Corps (NCC) of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, created a Nova World Record by firing 2,025 bullets to promote the powerful message: %u201cSay No to Drugs.%u201d The event, held at the SRM NCC Firing Range from 0600 hrs to 0900 hrs, aimed to raise awareness about drug abuse and encourage a healthier, drug-free society. A total of 49 cadets, including 17 first-year, 18 second-year, and 14 third-year cadets, participated in the event. The cadets assembled at 0540 hrs, ready for the momentous occasion. The event was inaugurated at 0600 hrs by Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, SRMIST, and Dr. Leenus Jesu Martin M, Professor, Department of Automobile Engineering, SRMIST. The prestigious Nova World Record Award was received by Dr. Gopal T V, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, SRMIST-KTR, in the presence of: Prof. Mohana Krishnan R, Director, Directorate of Sports, SRMIST, Dr. Lakshmanan T, NCC SRMIST Students Unite for Blood Donation DriveSRM NCC Sets Nova World Record: 2025 Bullets Fired to Promote %u2018Say No to Drugs%u2019Advisor, SRMIST, Captain P. Jekan, NCC Officer (Army Wing), Sub Lieutenant Dr. G. B. Sakthi Prasath, NCC Officer (Navy Wing) The cadets from the Army (1(TN) SIG COY NCC) and Navy (4 (TN) NAVAL TECH UNIT NCC) wings fired each bullet, echoing a unified message against drug abuse. Every shot symbolised a collective commitment to discipline and social responsibility instilled through NCC training. The event was meticulously documented by Nova World Records to ensure global recognition.
