Gomathy, Vice Principal (Academics & Placements), who has been honoured with the Champion Award at the Rotary Mega Meet %u2013 District Rotary Annual Awards 2025.The event, held on 29th June 2025, recognized outstanding individuals for their exceptional contributions to community service and leadership through Rotary. Dr. Gomathy%u2019s recognition stands as a testament to her unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and continued efforts to make a positive social impact.Her achievement reflects the values of excellence and service upheld by SRMIST and serves as an inspiration to the entire academic community. The institution extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Gomathy and wishes her continued success in all her future endeavours.STAFF WRITERAs part of its outreach initiative to inspire innovation among young minds, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Vadapalani Campus, organized %u201cTechnoMANIA %u2013 Electronics Project Competition 2025%u201d for school students on 30th July 2025. The event drew enthusiastic participation from over 90 students representing several schools, including Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School (K.K. Nagar), Kola Perumal Chetty Vaishnav Senior Secondary School (Arumbakkam), Sri Krish International School (Kovur), and others. Students competed in senior and junior categories, presenting innovative projects such as Celestial Object Tracking and Prediction Systems, Hydro Drift, Vigil Drive Tech, and Smart Glass for the Visually Impaired. The projects were evaluated by Dr. S. Karthik, Associate Professor/ECE, and Dr. R. Sathiya, Assistant Professor (Sr.G)/ECE. The event was coordinated by Dr. A. Vasuki and Dr. M. Shalini, along with student coordinators M. Akhilesh and Talha V.R.A. (III Year ECE). Dr. C. V. Jayakumar, Dr. C. Gomathy, and Dr. A. Shirly Edward felicitated the winners with cash prizes and certificates.
